It as come to pass. The man cave of my dreams is no more. That's not to say that I no longer have a man cave. It's just that now it's not one to dream about. I now share my personal space with 2 dog bowls and a washer and dryer.
The serious downsizing to this new windowless (truly a "cave") abode may have one possible benefit. I had to go through a lot of stuff and make some hard decisions about what would come and what would go. We normally move every few years which is when I usually do the cleanup but it looks like we'll be staying put here for a while longer so I guess now is the time to sort the junk from the treasure.
Another bright spot is I purchased (from Ollies Bargin Outlet) a cable that allows me to connect 2 computers to one monitor which is and idea who's time has come. I've had a spare computer for a while (donated by Jeremy) that I've wanted to use strictly for a music computer. I've added two 500GB external hard drives to it and have been working on consolidating all my music files onto it. When that's done I'll start ripping all my CD (or at least all I can) to it too and with the click of a button I can access it all from the same monitor I'm writing this on. Nice.
I'm not thrilled over all with the move mostly because I was not asked, but told that it was going to happen. It seems like I have little to say about what goes on in this house so I'm now saying less and less just to keep myself from being put out to the curb myself like so much of my former treasure.
So here I sit in my new paneled digs, reminding me a lot of the house where I grew up, and taking in the scent of fabric softener sheets. I've still got more work to do to make it home but most of the heavy lifting is done if you don't count my heart.
