No, I'm not talking about my significant other although I'm still steamed about the whole man cave thing. The Bitch I'm speaking of I picked up at a liquor store. Aparrently Sony Music got together with Dogfish Head brewery to produce a limited edition beer to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the release of Miles Davis' "Bitches Brew" album which is supposed to be the first ever Jazz fusion record but I'd have to check as to when FZ's "Hot Rats" album came out.
The first I ever heard of this endeavor was yesterday at the liquor store near my work where I was picking up something for the long holiday weekend. I noticed a bottle on the counter that looked like it had a familiar record label on it and when I inquired what it was the clerk said ti was just released and they had only one case in stock. The guy behind me had come in specifacaly looking for this which prompted us to talk about beer and music. If possible, he's more upset than me that the Frank Zappa beers have been discontinued. I bought a bottle, he bought 3 bottles and the next guy bought a bottle. In less than 5 minutes almost half of the supply of this rare beer was gone.
I asked the clerk about it and he says it's an imperial stout with honey and it's very good. I also spoke tho the owner for the liquor store closer to home and he also gave it high marks. He has 2 cases to sell and they are moving fast too but I couldn't be tempted to put down another $12.99 although I may live to regret it. I've got more than 2 dozen Miles Davis CD's and they are all very good as well. At this point I'm afraid to open this treasure except for a special occasion. That could be anything from"there's nothing else to drink in the house" to a visit from a beer loving buddy or two. Any takers?
